This vintage Beni M'Guild was woven by and belonged to a family that resides in a small village outside Timahdite.
Timahdite is nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains and is known for having harsh winters.
This vintage rug was made of 100% wool and dyed with only natural spices.
The Beni M'Guild rug style is know for its versatility. During the cold winters of the region the family would use the thick, wool pile to keep the house warm yet during the warm months when extra warmth was no longer needed they had the ability to flip the rug over to use the flat side.
With simple geometric diamond shapes against bold colors these pieces radiate beauty.
Due to the age of the piece the pile has been worn down to a low pile but will withstand the test of time for many decades to come.
